Officials from the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) are meeting with senior figures at BAA in order to get advice on how to handle major projects.
BAA recently successfully completed T5 at Heathrow and officials from the ODA are keen to pick up tips from the company in order to ensure the success of the Olympics 2012 project.
Andrew Wolstenholme, BAA's capital director, told QS Week: "Everyone recognises that we have learnt lots of lessons and that these are transferable. T5 and the Olympics also happen to share some of the same supply chain."
He added that the ODA will be able to understand "how we managed people and how to develop a safety culture".
The T5 site employed 10,000 staff, which will be beaten by the 15,000 staff used for the Olympic site.
BAA was set up in 1965 and, according to its website, is the world's leading airport company.
