New construction jobs will be created on a major stadium project after Tottenham Hotspur announced plans to move to a new ground next-door to their White Hart Lane home.
The club's chairman, Daniel Levy, announced on Thursday that the club needed a new stadium with increased capacity to meet the high demand for match tickets.
In a statement, Mr Levy said: "With a waiting list for season tickets of over 22,000 and club membership levels of over 70,000, our need for an increased capacity stadium has been clear for all to see for some time."
While no dates have been given regarding a possible move, it is thought that the stadium project, when it does go ahead, will provide a number of construction and engineer jobs.
The club's White Hart Lane stadium, which has been home to Tottenham since 1899, has a capacity of 36,000 - far less than local rival Arsenal's 60,000 capacity Emirates Stadium.
The project will also involve the construction of a club museum, a restaurant, homes, shops and community buildings.
